INTRODUCTION TO MINDFULNESS MEDITATION
Next introductory class will take place at The Refinery from 7:00 to 9:00 pm in January, 2010.
What is meditation?
Meditation is the practice of awakening, the moment to moment awareness of breath, sensations, thoughts and emotions. Through the mastering of this art of awakening we can learn new ways to approach our difficulties and bring more wisdom and joy to our life. Some of the benefits of meditation include a greater sense of peace and presence in the body, greater awareness of emotional patterns and mental states, and greater understanding and compassion for oneself.
This evening will provide instruction in the practice of mindfulness meditation, opportunities for questions and discussion, and information about community resources.
